Hawaii Packing List
I was lucky enough to travel to three different islands; Kauai, Maui, and Oahu. Each island offers a unique set of activities to the other which requires us to bring additional items with us. For example, Kauai and Maui have many beautiful hikes. Oahu is more built around a city so you'll be going out at night.
Putting together a packing list for Hawaii was difficult due to the drastic season changes as well the amount of islands and activities that you can choose between. What I brought with me and the attached packing list are vastly different. I ended up doing much more hiking than anticipated, and all the polo's and dress pants were never used.
Hawaii tends to be chilly at night during the winter. I recommend bringing at least one pair of jeans and a light jacket. The wind has a tendency to pick up so the jacket will definitely be a huge help. You'll want to wear the jeans at night, though a sweatshirt shouldn't be needed.
The list below is for a trip to Hawaii during the winter months revolved around hiking. I picked up hiking poles while I was there, and the sneakers didn't work nearly as well as my friends hiking boots due to all the mud. Highly recommend you pack the boots if you plan on hiking Na Pali or Waimea. Also, sun tan lotion is VERY expensive. If possible, pack a bottle or two to save a couple dollars.
